It works as an excellent suspending and stabilizing agent, as well as thickening agent to a clear formulation which contains high level of surfactants. It can work synergistically with surfactants and salt resulting in more efficient suspending, stabilizing, and thickening property. It is able to enhance the pearlescent appearance of surfactant formulations. It is widely used in personal cleansing products. Applications
